AirMATIC keeps the vehicle at a constant ride height regardless of vehicle load. The vehicle is automatically lowered at high speeds to reduce drag and fuel consumption. In addition, ground clearance can be manually increased on rough off-road terrain.

For maximum control and convenience, the M-Class features speed-sensitive power steering as standard. The system adjusts the level of power assistance according to the speed you’re travelling. When cruising along a motorway, you’ll receive minimal assistance to ensure straight-line stability and smooth lane changes. A standard feature on all M-Class models, Parktronic takes the stress out of manoeuvring into tight spaces. The system uses ultrasonic sensors on the front and rear of the vehicle to monitor the distance from obstacles such as parked cars. Initially, the driver is given a visual warning, and if an obstacle gets too close, an audible warning is given. The Parktronic system is invaluable on today’s busy city streets, helping you avoid those minor yet costly dents and scrapes.

Fitted as standard, the Easy-Pack powered tailgate raises and lowers at the touch of a button, allowing you extra freedom when you most need it. The Easy-Pack powered tailgate is ideal for hassle-free stowing of shopping or sports equipment, as it leaves both hands free for carrying bulky items. It can be operated from the driver's console, the ignition key or the tailgate itself, and opens to a pre-selected height depending on your needs. The M-Class features three-point front seat belts with belt-force limiters, buckle-type tensioners and manual belt-height adjustment. In the rear, passengers benefit from three-point belts with integrated tensioners and belt-force limiters for the outer seats.
