The Range Rover has advanced features such as Keyless Start without the inconvenience of docking the key fob and new steering wheel controls and switches, including two new five-way toggle switches controlling the In-Car Entertainment system and the Thin Film Transistor (TFT)-LCD virtual instrument panel. The new LR-TDV8 Diesel 4.4 litre engine is The Range Rover’s most powerful ever diesel engine and, with its new, faster eight-speed automatic transmission incorporating Drive Select with Paddle Shift as standard, provides new levels of refinement and better fuel economy.
The new LR-TDV8 uses advanced technologies, including parallel sequential turbocharging. This works with the new transmission to improve economy by 18 percent and lower CO2 emissions from 294 to 253g/km while making increases in the breadth and delivery of instantaneous power and torque. The result is 0-60mph in 7.5 seconds and the availability of 700Nm of torque all the way from 1,500 to 3,350rpm. Ceramic glow plugs improve combustion efficiency and effectively provide Press & Go start up.
Transmission
All new 4.4 litre LR-TDV8 Diesel engines feature an eight-speed automatic transmission incorporating Drive Select with Paddle Shift as standard to deliver performance, refinement and an ultimate breadth of capability.
Suspension and Steering
Air suspension, standard on every Range Rover, works with Terrain Response to provide sublime handling, comfort and capability. In addition, Adaptive Dynamics (standard on all models) ensures the ultimate Range Rover driving experience with enhanced control.

Full size driver and front passenger airbags
Driver and passenger safety is paramount in The Range Rover. This is achieved, in part, through the use of large curtain side airbags, driver and passenger airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, plus front seat pelvic and thorax airbags – all incorporated as standard. Additionally, the curtain side airbags feature extended inflation periods that help to protect occupants from side impacts.

Providing a revolution in the clarity of driver information is the virtual instrument panel with latest Thin Film Transistor (TFT)-LCD screen, which allows the display to be adapted to suit the driving conditions. Other essential information, as well as being the communication and entertainment hub of The Range Rover, is provided through the Touch-screen on the vehicle's facia. This is now available with dual view technology to allow driver and passenger to watch different images simultaneously.
