2015 could be a Historic Year for Rolls-Royce

rolls-royce-suvRolls-Royce has been leading us on a tantalising dance around their ‘planned’ SUV for quite a few months now. Although they were initially coy about confirming rumours that were started by Director of Design Giles Taylor, they have now informed the world’s motoring press that we will see some sort of SUV from the marque in the next few years.

Although the phrase ‘sports utility vehicle’ is being somewhat avoided, Rolls Royce have referred to their new project as a “high-bodied motor car” that can “cross any terrain”, making it pretty clear what’s in store.

It’s not surprising that they have finally chosen to enter this market, given how lucrative it is, and the language they’ve chosen suggests that they’re seeking to redefine its boundaries rather than follow the herd. With plenty of luxury SUVs already entering the market, it will be very interesting to see what emerges from Rolls-Royce and just how far those boundaries can be pushed.

But will also be easily recognizable as a Rolls-Royce.” Rumours suggest that the car will be moulded from aluminium, steel and carbon-fibre-reinforced-plastic, with power coming from a twin-turbo 6.6 litre V12 engine.

We may see this SUV as early as 2017, but in the meantime there are still many fantastic Rolls Royce options for you to enjoy right now. Browse through our website for details, or call us to discuss how a self-drive or chauffeur-driven luxury car like a Rolls Royce can augment any occasion.
