2016 Bentley Continental GT Makes its North American Debut at Monterey Auto Week

1930_BentleyThe new 2016 Bentley GT has just made its North American debut at the Monterey Auto week, where it featured alongside classic models such as the 1930 Blower Bentley. This Continental has been given some interesting external upgrades, including a more assertive front bumper and radiator shell, as well as more powerful front bumper. Wheels are now 20 and 21 inches.

Inside, there is a new, more modern straight-fluting pattern on the comfortable seats, while the Mulliner specification gets jacket-like quilting for a particularly British finish. Of course, the engine has also had a refurb, and the 6 litre twin-turbo W12 now has 582 BHP and 720 nm of torque.

bentley-pebblebeachMichael Winkler, President and CEO, Bentley Motors, Inc. said: “The future of Bentley is now, and Pebble Beach is the perfect backdrop to showcase the new Continental GT alongside gems from our past and concepts for our exciting future. The new Continental GT is a testament to Bentley trademarks of luxury and performance and we’re excited to share it with friends of Bentley during this gathering of fine automobiles.”

As well as the Continental GT, and the 1930 Bentley Blower which was entered into the famous Quail Rally, the entire 2016 model range was exhibited, including the EXP 10 Speed 6 design concept and the Continental GT3 R. For those lucky enough to be there, there was also an exciting auction of vintage and classic cars, including four Bentley models from the 1930s.
