Not due to shake the waters of the automotive world until the end of next year, the new Bentley Continental sports car has been spotted testing its performance capabilities on the roads; read on to glean the latest details and features Signature Car Hire have for you on the latest upcoming drop-top.

The Bentley Continental GTC Cabriolet, much like the Coupé, appears to have gained a lot of inspiration from the sleek EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept, which debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show; both cars appear to flaunt a wider front end, a wider front grille and more defined rear lights than their predecessors, though the familiar double light setup maintained across the current Bentley range seems to have remained steadfast. Most changes, though, look to have been made beneath the bonnet – changes we will have to be patient until the time comes to encounter them.

The roof of the Bentley Continental GTC Cabriolet looks to remain fabric, as showcased on the current model; the car has not yet let it’s guard – or indeed it’s roof – down, so details regarding the interior and infotainment system are still very much a mystery. We assume, of course, the roof will neatly fit into the boot, leaving some necessary space to be utilised whilst travelling.

Bentley have included a blend of aluminum in the body and high-strength steel in the chassis to contribute to a significantly lighted weight than the current – rather hefty – model, thus benefitting the car in terms of efficiency, handling and performance. Talking efficiency, we also have some hybrids to look forward to meeting in this range, as promised by Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bentley CEO, who promised that “there will be hybrids in the next-generation GT and Flying Spur – it’s a must-have.” Other powertrains will include the all-new 600 BHP W12 engine, as well as an updated version of the 4.0-litre petrol V8 engine.
