The legend that is the Geneva Motor Show is always a beaming highlight of the Signature Car Hire year, and 2016 looks to be no different. Signature Car Hire were honoured to attend on Press Day of Geneva Motor Show, and it did not disappoint in providing the pinnacle of platforms to announce an abundance of new production cars as well as concept cars in the making.
Big reveals include the new highly anticipated Audi Q2, the completely transformed Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet and the beautiful Aston Martin DB11; here, we give you the lowdown on the biggest new releases to be unveiled at the show, forming potential candidates to join the ranks of our luxury car hire fleet.
Abarth 124 Spider
Abarth are to make quite an impression this year with the reveal of its Fiat 124 Spider; unveiled for the first time at the show, this rally roadster announces 168 BHP from a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
Alpina is barring no holds with the debut of its stunning take on the new BMW 7 Series; the saloon will produce a powerful 591 BHP from a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, shared with a smaller B5 Bi-Turbo. We could not take our eyes off of the unmistakable style of the latest addition to the BMW range on Press Day; it is a marque that will slot in nicely to our BMW hire fleet, and one we are sure will be a popular Everyday Car Hire option, should it become part of the Signature Car Hire clan.
Apollo at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 are to showcase an intimidatingly powerful machine, as they pull the covers on the striking Apollo Arrow. The new supercar certainly has its game face on as it competes against the supercars of today – and that exterior detailing, just absolutely gorgeous.
Aston Martin DB11
The long-awaited Aston Martin DB11 will finally catch its first breaths at the Geneva Motor Show this week; the most significant car for the brand since 2003, the DB11 will stun audiences worldwide. The luxury marque will be available later this year, and Aston Martin has named it the most powerful, most efficient and most dynamically gifted of all of its models so far. It could be a strong contender to park within the Signature showroom and become a part of our Aston Martin Car Hire fleet.
Audi Q2 & RS Q3
Our Audi Car Hire fleet will also be excited to hear of the debut of two brand new Audi marques at this year’s show.
The new Audi Q2, the fourth sibling of the range, debuts as the entry-level SUV of the brand, and is set to hit showrooms later this year. Perhaps this model will become the baby of our 4×4 Car Hire fleet; with its understated nature but undoubted elegance, the Audi Q2 would form an ideal Everyday Car Hire option.
Never one to leave its audience wanting more, Audi will pack another punch with the unveiling of its all-new Audi RS Q3 – and what a car it looks to be. Housing a hard-working five-cylinder engine, the Audi RS Q3 gives its driver the experience of over 360 BHP with the push of the pedal. We love the sound of that…
Bentley Mulsanne Long Wheel Base
The “most relaxing automotive environment in the world”, as branded by Bentley themselves, will be revealed at the show in the form of the Long Wheel Base adaptation of the Bentley Mulsanne. Providing an abundance of space you can only imagine, along with a personification of luxury and elegance, the powerful new version of one of our favourite Executive Car Hire marques will most definitely deliver that chauffeur experience every time.
Ferrari GTC4 Lusso
The Ferrari FF’s facelift premiers in the form of the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso in Geneva, bringing with it exterior, interior and engine changes in the four-seat supercar. We feel it will fit in well among our Ferrari Car Hire lineup – what do you think?
The cloth will be lifted on the limited edition Lamborghini Centenario this month, celebrating the brand founder’s 100th birthday – we know we would not say no to such an extravagant birthday present. Following Press Day, all 40 planned builds of the rare supercar have been sold already, each at £1.6 million – and we can see why. It is simply astonishing.
Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet
The C-Class Cabriolet has been announced and will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, completing the C-Class family and joining the current Saloon, Coupé and Estate. We predict the new soft top’s sleek style will be a sure winner once it goes on sale later this year.
Pininfarina are due to make a comeback this year with its latest concept car, detailed as “halfway between a racing prototype and a production supercar”.
Porsche 718 Boxster & Porsche 911 R
We finally set our eyes on the more powerful but also more efficient Porsche 718 Boxster in the metal on Press Day of the Geneva Motor Show, while Porsche also showcased the Porsche 911 R, boasting a sporty manual gearbox and an eager 493 BHP promise beneath the bonnet.
Rolls-Royce Wraith and Ghost Black Badge
Rolls-Royce will not be overshadowed at the show this year, and will announce two new “Black Badge” limited editions of both the Rolls-Royce Wraith Coupé and the Rolls-Royce Ghost Saloon. Beautiful detailing paired with a sure power boost form two new luxury bespoke editions to the Rolls-Royce range.
The Geneva Motor Show looks to continue to meet and exceed all car-lovers expectations this year, and we look forward to meeting some of its announced new releases and Facelifted models in our own Experience Centre very soon.
