Check out the glorious video of the new Ferrari convertible hypercar

‘Aperta’ in Italian means ‘open’, so it’s perhaps no surprise that the new convertible LaFerrari bears this name.

What was not supposed to be quite so open, however, was the car’s exterior, which got papped by an eager supercar enthusiast during one of its first outings in Spain. Because the car is moving slowly you can get a great view of the design, as you can see for yourself here:

Hot on the heels of this illicit video were Facebook postings from the Ferrari Club Espana, and now the full thing has finally been revealed at the Paris Motor Show. Unsurprisingly, it’s already sold out, with 200 people having coughed up the cash before even seeing the car.

The car has a hybrid powertrain, combining a 6.3-liter V-12, a pair of electric motors and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, producing 950 horsepower. With a soft top or carbon fibre roof, the car otherwise retains most of the hardtop’s sensational styling and indeed its performance – it boastsĀ  a 0-60MPH speed of less than three seconds.
