Signature Car Hire was proud to be part of the Gumball 3000 rally in 2010, and especially pleased to showcase their top of the range sports cars with well know celebrities The Wire star Idris Elba in addition to Jewelry designer Jade Jagger and US singer Eve.
The Wire star Idris Elba has revved his engines in Signature’s Aston Martin DB9 Volante to kick off the Gumball 3000 2010 alongside movie actor Michael Madsen.
Jewellery designer Jade Jagger and US singer Eve brought extra glamour to the proceedings as a host of super cars set off on the 3,000-mile trip from London’s Pall Mall to New York. Eve, who is part of a team of all-female drivers in Signature’s Bentley convertible GTC, said: “We are representing for the whole female race. This is a boys’ club for sure, but I love that we broke into the boys’ club.”
She donned a figure-hugging leopard print outfit for the event, but swapped her towering wedges for flat boots before getting behind the wheel.
Asked about her main concerns, she said: “I’ve never driven on the right side of the car so I want to get comfortable with that and I want to make sure I abide by the laws. I don’t want to be the girl who gets pulled over and given a ticket.”
Also taking part were skateboard star Tony Hawk and US rapper Xzibit. The 12th annual rally this year takes in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Stockholm, where cars are flown to North America. The next leg includes Boston, Quebec and Toronto before finishing in New York’s Times Square.
