Interview with Signature new Personal Account Manager, Kofi Obiri

kofi3You’ve just joined, what attracted you to want to work for Signature car Hire?

Signature Car Hire was recommended to me by a friend who knew there were exciting opportunities opening in the company due to expansion. After going online and reviewing the company website, I was extremely impressed at the professional design of the site and taken aback at how many divisions the Global brand had within its ranks. Having been invited to visit the Head Office, everything I saw was confirmed after being given the guided tour. Jaw-dropping Experience Centre, excellent professional building design and décor and speaking with the company’s Commercial Director, I was left in no doubt that Signature Car Hire was most definitely a company I wanted to work for.

What does your role entail?

As a Personal Account Manager, my role involves building and developing relationships with a vast array of clients on a global scale. Through identifying their needs or the needs of their clients, I endeavour to nurture relations and provide them with a personalised customer service experience, which ultimately leads me to recommend cars and rental packages that suit their needs. Great organisational skills, time management and the ability to multi-task are key facets to my role in ensuring I am able to effectively meet and exceed the expectations of the clients I communicate with.

What makes Signature different from the other self-drive hire companies out there?

Signature stands apart from other car hire companies for many of reasons; one of the main being that unlike many other car rental companies, we own all of our vehicles, ensuring we have full control over the cars specification and continued maintenance. As a global organisation, we cater for the needs of clients both domestically and internationally. Our standards reflect the levels of clientele which includes dignitaries, royal families, diplomats and celebrities. I take immense pride in delivering the best possible customer experience. The Signature team is on hand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure we are only ever a phone call away to address any queries you may have.

Why is customer service so essential?

I believe customer service is the most vital component to any successful organisation. By placing the needs of our clients at the forefront of all we do ensures no stone is left unturned as we strive to create a lasting impression and memorable experience.

Do you get good feedback from customers?

As a Personal Account Manager, there is no greater feeling than speaking with my clients during and following their car hire. To hear how much they are and have enjoyed their experiences is gratifying. I enjoy getting to know my clients, which helps me better understand their needs and to receive positive feedback from them expressing the joy their hire has brought them truly provides me with that feel-good factor. I am currently waiting wedding pictures to arrive from one of my clients who recently hired our Range Rover Sport 5L Autobiography to mark his special day!

What would your ‘elevator pitch’ be to someone who has never used Signature before?

If you are looking for a prestigious car hire experience from a company with that puts the needs of their customers at the forefront of all they do, you truly need look no further than Signature Car Hire. With the latest and most sought after supercars available in the world, Signature offer a great variety of cars to meet the specific needs you may have.

Who inspires you?

I draw inspiration from many people; some of whom I know well, as in family and friends, others include public figures past and present who continue to be a source of motivation for me. I am inspired by people who in spite of adversity and troubled times, have strived to overcome the obstacles and setbacks they have faced and have shown resilience and determination in moving forward to achieve their goals.

What can’t you live without?

Oxygen, water and food but that aside, the love and support from my family and friends…Football…Music…My mobile phone.

Three items on a desert island……what would they be?

Sand…Sea…Trees 🙂 although the three items I would take with me would be a luxurious boat (stacked with food and drink), rescue flares (for when the food and drink ran out) and a fishing rod (and casting net) to keep me going until I get rescued.

kofi2What’s your favourite car in the fleet?

Oh, it is so difficult to choose! It’s either the Bentley Continental GTC V8 or the Ferrari F430 F1 Spider.

If you could have that car for a weekend, where would you go and why?

I would most likely take a drive down to Bournemouth to soak up the sunshine by the beach or I would spend my time driving by the coast being at one with nature and relaxing having picnics and sightseeing.

And who would be sat beside you (someone you know, or someone from history?)

A close friend who I could enjoy the tranquillity with.

If a customer was to call you now for an exciting weekend hire, what car would you recommend?

As we have such glorious weather at the moment (long may that continue) I would definitely recommend one of our performance cars, with the Bentley Continental GTC V8 and our Lamborghini Gallardo being top of the list.
