INTERVIEW WITH SIGNATURE’S COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR JOHN LUTTRELL

john1. What does an average day look like in your work with Signature?

I’m normally in the office by 7am and catch up with overnight email, many of our clients are from overseas and time zones differ quite significantly, you never know what you will receive and from where. A typical day will have a number of scheduled meetings either with internal members of the team or from companies that may be coming in to consider working with us, perhaps on affiliate programmes. The day would often include working with the various departments, marketing, accounts, sales, IT as well as the owner of the business. I would generally leave the office by 7pm although  the exception would be Tuesdays where I collect my son from After School Club at 5pm, pictured here when I brought him down to see ‘daddy’s supercars!’

2. You’re in charge of recruitment for Signature, is a passion for cars an important quality that you look for?

Yes I think a passion for cars is important, it certainly helps people retain product knowledge if they are “petrol heads” or at least have a love of performance cars.

3. What other qualities are important to be a successful member of the team?

Our business is all about people, self-starters, problem solvers, a very good telephone manner, if we are providing the car and the service, don’t be afraid to ask for the order.
