Interview with Signature’s Development Director Bizhan Jeddi

bizhanYou were part of the original Signature Car Hire Team back in 2007, how has the company changed since the early days?

The company has transformed massively from where is started when I was part of the original team in 2007. It’s developed from quite humble beginnings to now be the most prestigious performance car hire company in the UK. Clients have access to more cars with better options all maintained in immaculate condition on site. The showroom is simply impressive, I certainly felt the wow factor when I walked into it for the first time, something you don’t forget! It is larger and brighter, really showing of the super range of cars to their max. It is a really exciting time for the company and I am delighted to be back and part of where it is now.

You left Signature to set up home in Qatar. Can you tell us what your time there was like?

HOT would sum it up in one word! The atmosphere there is generally very relaxed, working hours are usually from 7am to 1pm and from 4pm to 8pm. The hottest part of the day falls between 1pm and 4pm and people generally stay at home, relax and stay cool. It was nice to spend time at the beach over the weekends, so I will miss that. I doubt I will ever live there again but my family and I will always have a holiday home there to retreat to.

You have just had a new baby. How has this changed your life and outlook?

I definitely have to think twice before I put my foot down. I’ve got to think about buying practical four door family cars now, rather than the tarmac shredding performance cars from my days as a bachelor. That’s a 180 degrees different view to what I thought 2 years ago! I’m living on about four hours sleep a night….no one warned me about that! All that aside kids are great fun and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

How does it feel to be back at Signature?

With the business skills I’ve gained whilst managing a company during my four years in Qatar I know both Signature and I can benefit from my experience. Dee is an individual who sees value in new concepts and I have ideas that could help Signature expands into new markets. So far everything is going well, the background work is being done and now it’s time to put my foot on the peddle and accelerate!

rrWhat is your role?

I’m responsible for new routes of business. We have a few projects for car hire and chauffeur hire in progress which are being activated over the next few months, however there will be more of a focus on other areas going forward. Opening new doors can be a huge challenge however with our current set up I feel it is easily possible.

We understand you are working on something top secret for Signature at the moment. Can you give us any clues as to what it might be?

Even the freedom of information act can’t get this one out of me. The future of performance car hire is in the making!

What can we expect to see from Signature over the next few years?

I think lateral growth is where the real results will be produced long term. We have a strong platform to expand and incorporate other businesses under our umbrella. Signature now has the capabilities and key people in place to produce real results from new ventures.

What’s your typical day like?

I can’t say any day is the same, a lot of meetings, emails and quiet development time in the bat cave sums it up.

What’s your favourite car in the Signature fleet?

The Bentley GTC and CLS Brabus Rocket, I think they are the perfect blend of power and status in a single vehicle. I’m a tall lad so can’t easily get in and out of Lamborghinis and Porsches!

What was your favourite car in 2007?

It was our yellow Lamborghini Gallardo, it was a very original looking car back then. The engine and features were very unique. It certainly helped put Signature on the map.

If you were given your favourite car for the weekend, what would you do with it?

I would take my wife out for an evening of wining and dining then go for a drive on a scenic route…….that’s assuming we can find a babysitter!

Who is your inspiration?

The poet Hafez “Stay close to anything that makes you glad you are alive”

What can’t you live without?

My wife and Son.
