It’s Been a Busy Week for Aston Martin

aston-martin1Aston Martin have been flying the flag for UK manufacturing recently, taking starring roles in the both the visit of the Chinese President and the premiere of new record-breaking Bond film Spectre.

On 21st October the Aston Martin DB10, the car featured in the Bond film, took pride of place outside London’s Lancaster House, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were meeting Chinese President Mr Xi Jinping. They were there for a creative summit hosted by the government’s UK Trade & Investment department (UKTI) as part of the President’s three-day State visit to Great Britain. The summit was tied of the GREAT Britain campaign, which showcases the best of what the UK has to offer to inspire the world and encourage people to visit, do business, invest and study in the UK.

Aston Martin were there to demonstrate the potential of the UK’s car manufacturing industry, and what better way to do this than through the DB10, the first car to made exclusively for the world’s favourite spy?

Just a week later this car had another big night out, when it took its place on the red carpet for the charity premiere of Spectre. Hosted at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the premiere saw the car once again united with its Royal fans the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as Prince Harry.

TSPECTRE_033-newshe DB10 was also joined on the red carpet by the cast of Spectre, including Bond Daniel Craig, as well as producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and director Sam Mendes.

Spectre was the 12th Bond film to feature an Aston Martin, a partnership which goes back to the Aston Martin DB5 in the 1964 film Goldfinger. As Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, commentated: “It was a pure delight to see the DB10 put to such spectacular use on the big screen. The ongoing love affair between Bond and Aston Martin has endured for more than half a century and I’m pleased to see the DB10 put through its paces in Spectre.”

Already, millions of people have seen the film, and it broke box office records in its first week. We’re sure the gorgeous car in the film has contributed to this success!
