Lamborghini Huracán GT3 unveiled

image (4)The concept of ‘racing green’ has quite possibly just been redefined. Whilst you may think the phrase conjures up a smooth, forest green Jaguar hurtling urbanely towards the finish line to claim another trophy for team GB, after the launch of the Huracán GT3, resplendent in its lime green paintwork, you may want to think again.

On visuals alone the GT3 is striking. As well as that luminous green body, the car features more structural alterations including an adjustable rear wing, more louvres and an adjustable front spoiler. A reworked aero provides extra cooling to the brakes, and overall the alterations make the Huracán look like an angry insect that’s about to use its mandibles to deadly effect.

image (2)The car has been designed with the company Dallara, who also helped the marque design the Huracán Super Trofeo – the amped up 611BHP racing version designed to compete in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo single car race series.

The emergence of both this and the GT3 marks the marque’s slow progression towards building a racing stable that can truly compete in international motorsport.

To this end, Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse race team will be taking the GT3 to the Blancpain Endurance Series this year, and we can undoubtedly expect even bigger and better things in future.

imageNot that the GT3 is a disappointment. Made from a carbon-aluminium body shell, the car has improved front and rear subframes as well as an FIA approved rollcage, and weighs just 1239kg.

Everything has been optimised for the racetrack, from the roof hatch that enables medics to enter the vehicle quickly, to the optimised gearbox, carbon seat and 380mm breaks at the front.

Performance statistics for the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 have yet to be released, but it’s undoubtedly going to be fast. Watch this space for more news, or hire one of our Huracán for an exhilarating Lamborghini experience. We’d advise booking in advance, however, as they’re in high demand!
