Most of us like to go for dinner on our birthday…perhaps at a landmark age, we’ll even throw a party, and maybe even display the highlights of our life so far. Lamborghini, though, like to celebrate in style…
To mark what would have been the 100th birthday of their founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, Lamborghini will launch a limited run supercar at the Geneva Motor Show, March 2016.
One hundred years earlier, Ferruccio Lamborghini was born on 28th April 1916, and later founded his famous car company to rival Ferrari in 1963. Rumour has it that the new hypercar will be named the Centenario, in keeping with the reason it has been designed, and will feature distinct and exclusive styling.
Signature Car Hire will, of course, be attending the show and keeping you updated with the unveiling of Lamborghini’s new model, which is confirmed to be in a Coupé format.
Stephan Winkelmann, the current President and Chief Executive of Lamborghini, has teased us with tidbits of information of its new automotive monster, remarking that the vehicle will be “a mix of technology demonstrator and street-legal car, which is important for the people who will buy it”. Elaborating further, he tells us, “this will be the first time we have put so much content into one special car”.
Planned to be a collector’s favourite, with less than twenty examples to be built, the new model will be a true celebration piece, demonstrating exactly what Maurizio Reggiani and his team can do with technical innovations; in fact, this is expected to be the most technologically advanced Lamborghini to date. While many believe it will be the long anticipated Urus that Lamborghini will surprise us with, we are questioning whether the model will even be in coupé format – or is this just a bone the team at Lamborghini have thrown us to lead us off of the scent? Could it be that Lamborghini actually plans to reveal a new sports model, incorporating its latest innovations and ambitions? Lamborghini remain cleverly discreet.
