It might seem like it’s passed in the blink of an eye, but the Land Rover Discovery is now 25 years old. That means it’s now old enough to rent most of Signature’s cars!

The Land Rover Discovery was launched in Plymouth in 1989, when it revolutionised the 4×4 landscape and provided the world with a family SUV that was spacious, beautifully designed and immensely capable.

Since that date, more than 1 million Discovery cars have been sold, with each new release bringing stunning new developments in design and technology. As well as pioneering innovations such as Hill Descent Control, the Discovery has also broken ground over the years by supporting adventurers like Sir Ranulph Fiennes in their world-famous exploits.

To commemorate the model’s milestone birthday, Land Rover have now built an exclusive limited edition Discovery, the XXV.

Available in four exterior colours, Causeway Grey, Santorini Black, Fuji White and – to mark the jubilee – Indus Silver, this Discovery shows a mature sophistication appropriate to its age. Its exterior is further complemented by silver roof rails, distinctive XXV badging on the front door and tailgate, and newly designed 20-inch five-split-spoke forged alloy wheels in a light polished-silver finish.

The interior is just as gorgeous, building on the Discovery’s HSE specification to create a luxurious space that is lined with the finest quality Windsor leather. Even the wooden steering wheel is leather-wrapped, while the XXV embossing throughout the interior makes it feel truly special. We can’t wait to bring one of these exclusive models to our fleet, especially because we know how much the Land Rover fans amongst you will love it. Watch this space for more details.

Happy 25th, Discovery!
