Meet the gorgeous Bentley Speed Six

bentley speed 6 frontBack in the 1920s, a giant six-cylinder 6.5-litre Bentley was making mincemeat of the Le Mans race. This car, the Speed Six, is one of the most iconic cars the marque has ever made, meaning that a modern tribute was perhaps inevitable. The new Speed Six, not yet in production, is a different beast to its predecessor. A two-seater front-engined coupe, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, this finished car could be the fifth model line from Bentley.

The car is clearly designed for speed, its design is the essence of light, swift and sporty. It has a remarkably shallow front grille, accompanied by strikingly curved headlamps with a diamond design inside. The curves of the car pay homage to the Continental, while the taillights are oval to match the tailpipes.

The door panels are each made from a solid piece of cherry wood, again engraved with a diamond pattern that features copper detailing. As well as containing only the finest materials, the interior is beautifully proportioned, with a sense of lightness and harmony throughout.

Although there are still many details to be ironed out – will it, for example, be hybrid drive? – this is shaping up to be a pretty spectacular car. We’ll bring you all the latest details on this, and the forthcoming Bentayga, as we have them. Who knows, you might see them in our Experience Centre one day soon!
