Preview: The Goodwood Festival of Speed Accelerates Ever Closer

FOS-logoThis year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed will be creatively themed around “the endless pursuit of power” – a promising and thrilling concept for a show all about the fast and the powerful. Due to take place from 24th – 26th June, the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed is rumoured to be featuring some of the fastest racing cars and bikes in history.

BMW has been employed as the featured brand of the show and is therefore expected to have countless displays of BMW models, both past and present. The Festival will also become the host of a few car debuts from the likes of Mercedes, Honda and Mazda, set to lift the veil on some surprises for the British public.

Here, Signature Car Hire have some details of the key cars appearing at the 2016 event, whetting your appetite in anticipation of one of the most talked about British car shows.

Ferrari California T
Already having made an impression on road testers, the Ferrari California T is set to be introduced to the British public for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcasing it’s sharper handling and deafening exhaust notes. The model will use the same turbocharged 3.9-litre V8 as the regular California T, adding a bespoke chassis setup, exhaust and standard carbon-ceramic brakes. These new features will contribute to the car becoming a louder, harsher ride – though arguably, for a sports car, a far more satisfying and exciting drive.

The beast that is the AMG GT-R is due to reveal itself in a harder, more powerful version at the Goodwood Festival of Speed; it is expected to roar in with an awe-inspiring 570 BHP from its updated twin-turbocharged V8 engine and is due to hit showrooms later this year.

BMW M4 GTS

Power has increased significantly in comparison to the regular M4, which performs at 68 BHP less, and is also raring to make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Elemental RP1
