Rolls Royce has been in existence for 111 years, and in that time has established itself as one of the world’s most prominent luxury car manufacturers. Although the product is as high quality as ever, it seems as if demand is at record levels: the company has recorded its fifth consecutive year of record sales. In 2014, it sold 4,063 cars, which is a 12 percent increase on the previous year and a sign that sales have quadrupled since 2009.
Part of this success is due to its ever-increasing expansion into new markets, fuelled by growth in emerging economies. It has, for example, rapidly grown in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Vietnam – in the latter the dealership sold out of Phantoms on its first day in business.
The Gulf is also big business for the marque, but this is for slightly different reasons: the region’s entrepreneurs are keen on Rolls Royce’s extensive personalisation options, as well as the Rolls Royce Wraith, which is hugely popular in the area.
What unites people of all countries, however, is the love of the bespoke options that Rolls Royce offer. As the marque’s CEO Torsten Muller-Orvos commented, they have “invested significant amounts of money but also head count in our bespoke business for a very good reason, because it is the crown jewel in our business.” Customers can’t get enough of personalising their Rolls Royce cars and making them a true expression of their personality, something demonstrated by the fact that every Phantom and most other models left Goodwood last year with ‘significant bespoke personalisation’.
Anyone who’s experienced the Rolls Royce models we have for hire with our professional chauffeur service will understand just why this level of success doesn’t come as too much of a surprise for us. We wish them even greater successes in future and, if you’re yet to see what the fuss is about, we suggest you watch one this film or call us on 0845 370 2222 and experience the magic first hand!
