Debuting just last year, the London Classic Car Show has quickly become a popular platform within which we all have the chance to get up close and personal with some of our world’s most beautifully built cars in history. This year, Signature Car Hire were eager to get in on the action; the show promised to be bigger and better than before, and it did not disappoint.

The Show held its own “six nations”, letting Britain, Italy, France, Germany, Japan and the USA battle it out to be crowned the best car makers in the world, while the infamous “Grand Avenue” was extended to showcase even more cars than last year, and truly get us drooling.

Ferrari proudly took over the Grand Avenue for a stint, proudly exhibiting a striking Ferrari F40 in Racing Blue; that unmistakable shape and scarily powerful performance made for a fantastic show. Among the Ferrari stand also stood a Ferrari 599 GTO, aptly left to be admired in all its glory, while not to be forgotten was parked a Ferrari 212 EL Vignale, raced at none other than the 1951 Carrera Panamericana and finishing second – just legendary.

Great Britain ended up the Classic Car Show’s ‘Six Nations’ Champion; representing Britain, an awesome McLaren F1 Longtail racer graced the stand, as a tribute to the history of the former fastest car in the world. Aston Martin exceeded all expectation and displayed the One-77, launched in 2009 – not a classic by age, clearly, but with only 77 manufactured and housing one of the most powerful V12 engines beneath its bonnet, its rarity and thus classic attributes cannot be denied.

Nissan made quite an impact in the show through its display of the Nissan Skyline GT-R, present, stunning and iconic in every way. Fiat also put the brought the Classic game up a few notches, throwing the original, classic Fiat 500 into the mix – parked proud, it certainly does evoke a wholly different level of excitement than that of the pocket rocket it has become, in the form of our Fiat 500 Abarth, for example.

Dee Bhatia, our CEO, is passionate about all-things-Lamborghini, and the sight of the Lamborghini Diablo sent us all reeling with respect for the expertise behind its build; prettiness may not be the cars strong point, but pure power most certainly is. We would not mind seeing that baby parked up in our Lamborghini car hire fleet, next to our Lamborghini Aventador or Lamborghini Huracán

Porsche, Lancia, Ford, and Audi all came out to play and were among others attending the show, emblazoning their most treasured classics on the frontlines; we at Signature Car Hire certainly appreciated the opportunity to meet such wonderful, inspirational classic models.

Classic car browsing will always be a fantastic pastime; however, luxury car hire just pips it to the post. Be sure to waste no time and Make your Marque in one of our high-performance, highly maintained luxury cars, before they too become untouchable classics.
