Signature Car Hire Industry Roundup

aston-martin-v12-s-spitfire-1Once again, countless dramas have been taking place in the never-ending, fast-paced place that is the car industry world; here, Signature Car Hire bring you the latest.

Special Aston Martin Vantage V12 S Launched
A limited run Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80 has been revealed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Supermarine Spitfire’s fighter plane’s first flight; only eight examples of the car will be made and will set buyers back approximately £180,000. Deliveries are scheduled to take place in October this year.

The Aston Martin Spitfire design plans look simply beautiful. The car will be finished in a special ‘Duxford Green’ colour with a yellow pinstripe running along the sides, a nod to the wing design of the famous single-seat fighter aircraft, while yellow detailing will feature on both the grille and the brake calipers. A carbon fibre front and rear diffusers also add to the car’s undoubtedly unique look.

In keeping with the exclusive model’s aircraft theme, buyers will even receive an Irvin flying helmet and flying goggles, sweetening the deal, for sure.

First Pictures of New LaFerrari Revealed
Rumoured to be named the LaFerrari Aperta, the forthcoming open-top LaFerrari Spider is on the way and has been officially revealed this week ahead of the physical unveiling at the Paris Motor Show this September. Only a small production run of 150 cars have been confirmed, with all available examples already sold following an exclusive preview to clients.

From the pictures, it is clear to see that the removal of the roof has done little to affect the car’s styling and design features; in fact, the steeply raked windscreen and the raised rear haunches remain. Carbon-fibre focused construction suggests there will be no need for extra strengthening, and thus, little or no compromise in the incredible hypercar’s performance.

No technical details have yet been revealed, and we are desperate to set eyes on the new roof – will it be fabric or hardtop? We will have to wait and see.

First Pictures of New Rolls-Royce Phantom Released
The all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom is on it’s way and has been spotted testing, giving us a healthy glimpse into the new luxury saloon’s development.

While the current model has remained largely unchanged since 2003, the new model flaunts all-new aluminum architecture along with advanced entertainment and safety features. The test model has revealed that the Phantom will remain unmistakably Rolls-Royce from the front, maintaining the iconic nose, grille and LED headlamps. The bonnet appears longer than the current model, though, and the windscreen steeper. A plug-in hybrid version of the car has even been hinted at by engineers, though this is a detail still very much looking for solid confirmation.
