The bespoke Ferrari California T shows you really can be spoiled for choice

Personalisation is a tricky thing. Get it right, and you look like a pro, get it wrong, and you’re just another pretender in an ill-fitting monogrammed shirt.

What you really need is some benevolent, stylish Italian uncle who’ll guide you through the aesthetic minefield – which is exactly what you get with the Ferrari Tailor Made programme.

This exclusive arm of Ferrari offers a huge range of personalisation options, all of which come with the marque’s stylish seal of approval. To highlight the extent of what’s on offer, Ferrari unveiled a bespoke California T at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show.

This model has been inspired by Ingrid Bergman and Jacqueline Kennedy and is, appropriately, gorgeous.

The car is coated in an eye-catching shade of grey known as Grigio Ingrid, which really highlights the curves of this beautiful car.

It’s known as Ingrid Grey because it’s the exact shade Ingrid Bergman’s Ferrari 375 MM was coated in when she was given it in 1954.

Inside, the California T contains brown leather seats, accompanied by a brown leather dash that’s accentuated by black plastic trim. The floor mats are made from pure New Zealand wool, while high quality Alcantara fabric also features heavily throughout.

In substance, however, the car is the same as all the standard California T models, featuring a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 that delivers a scorching 552BHP at 7,500 rpm.

The car can do 0-62MPH in just 3.6 seconds, and reach a top speed of 316KM per hour. Clearly, the mechanics need no refinement, but as this bespoke Shanghai model shows, you can have an awful lot of fun customising the rest.
