Voted a Future Classic – The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster

V12-Vantage-S-Roadster-award2015In what could be construed as an unpatriotic move, the German people have voted an English car their ‘Classic Car of the Future’. Readers of the respected Auto Bild Klassik voted that the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster should scoop the prestigious award, which is part of a series of automotive honours awarded by the magazine every year. Around 30,000 readers vote for the gongs, meaning that they are a great indication of the country’s preference for classic cars. Every year around 100 cars are nominated for the 14 awards available, with Aston Martin consistently scooping prizes.
Speaking at the award ceremony in Wolfsburg on October 20th, Mark Kenworthy, Regional Director European Operations of Aston Martin Lagonda of Europe, said: “We are very proud to once again receive this important award. The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster embodies the genes of Aston Martin perfectly: Superior performance in timeless design. We thank the readers of Auto Bild Klassik for their support.”
In previous years, the Aston Martin Rapide and the V12 Vantage GT have also scooped the prize. It is perhaps unsurprising that the Germans continually recognise  Aston Martin’s excellence. The quality of the build and the innovation in the marque’s engineering are both incredible, and are two qualities we often associate with German car manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Perhaps we have more in common than we think!
