Were Lamborghini inspired by our video?

Every office has that one guy who’s always calling people over to look at something he’s just found on YouTube. You know, the one who’s always emailing you videos of cats and people falling over, but who somehow always manages to look busy when the boss walks by?

Well we reckon the Lamborghini office has one of those guys too, because we’re hoping that their involvement in the new Transformers film was inspired by our video of Signature’s Aventador coming to life:

Incidentally, this video has had close to 8 MILLION views! Thank you to all our fans who have been sharing, watching and liking this clip – we’re overawed by the response to it and this wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Lamborghini were on the red carpet in Leicester Square last month to promote their role in Transformers: The Last Knight, the fifth instalment in the franchise. Their car has been used to create the character Hot Rod, also known as Rodimus Prime, who is working with astronomer Sir Edmund Burton.

It’s not just any car, however, Hot Rod takes the form of a Lamborghini Centenario, which featured in our blog last week, a coupé valued at 1.75 million dollars. Designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, the car has 770 BHP and cando 0-62MPH in just 2.9 seconds. Unfortunately all 40 V12 models, which include 20 Roadsters and 20 Coupés, have already been sold!

Transformers fans will of course point out that Hot Rod isn’t the only Transformer to have featured in the series and that our video probably hasn’t contributed to this latest development. Nevertheless we feel that 8 million views is a testament to the power and magic of Lamborghini, as well as the myriad ways in which beautiful cars can inspire creativity. We can live with that!
