Aston Martin DB9 Plug-In Details

Bosch Engineering and Aston Martin have teamed up to make a plug-in hybrid of the DB9. The reasoning for this seems to be to connect with more green-conscious buyers who are looking for a performance car that is more environmentally conscious. The 6.0 litre V12 engine is going to be paired up with two electric motors that have been positioned with the front wheels to increase the drive power of the car. The motors have been engineered to improve drive handling by producing negative torque.  This car has a rear-mounted lithium-ion battery that will help the DB9 drive for around 16 miles on electric power alone.

Bosch has said the car from 0 – 60 mph in around 20% faster than your normal DB9 though it is heavier than the current DB9. The car serves 740 horsepower so even though it is just a prototype for now, this could definitely be an exciting addition to the line-up of Aston Martin if it is ever produced for the market.
