Heralded as the fastest ultra-luxury driving experience in the world, the new Mulsanne Speed is a truly exciting development in this rarified market. Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on Thursday 2nd October, and on the road this winter, the Mulsanne Speed features a 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 530 bhp and 1,100 nm of torque – an impressive figure enabled by the redesigned combustion system. The driving experience is further enhanced by the Sport suspension mode, which will entirely redefine what driving a Bentley feels like.
To match the new emphasis on sport, this new model has distinctive styling, including a dark tint finish on the steel grilles, new headlights, twin rifled exhaust tailpipes, and a ‘floating ellipse’ design on the taillights. Inside, luxury is key, with features that exceed expectations – not bad for one of the world’s most luxurious marques. Not only are the interior materials sumptuous, but the level of technology is unprecedented. There is a 60GB on-board hard drive, electronic tables with iPad and keyboard connectivity, on board Wi-Fi and, of course, a state-of-the-art audio system. For budding Bonds out there, the car is also available with a frosted glass bottle cooler, complete with bespoke crystal champagne flutes, behind the rear armrest.
