Ferrari to Continue Proud Tradition at Geneva Motor Show

The gossip on the Motor Show circuit is that the Geneva Motor Show has been chosen as the setting for Ferrari’s next exciting release.

Ferrari has a long history of unveiling each new and more beautiful supercar at the Swiss show, and it is rumoured to be continuing this historic tradition in March this year.  The Salon has been the birthplace for such models as the F50 and 575 Maranello in recent years, and it would seem that 2012 will be no exception.  It is believed that Ferrari will show its heir to the throne of the 599GTB Fiorano at the Palais.

This new coupe will take over the mantle of the 599 GTB, whose production ceased last year.  It is reported that it will be called the F620 when it is released to the market.   This flagship GT will be legendary Ferrari rear-wheel drive which is a great reward for classic Ferrari followers.  It will be powered by the 6.3 litre V12 engine of the Ferrari FF, although it will benefit from an additional 90 bhp.  This phenomenal 710 bhp powerhouse will have transmission provided by the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox of the 458 Italia.

The Ferrari F620 GT will feature legendary coupe styling, with all the sportsmanlike design you would expect.  The leading edge of the car should borrow cues from the Ferrari FF and the overall profile will be truly awesome.  A worthy successor from the stable at Maranello, you can expect the F620 GT to be powerful and punchy, yet with a regal approach to design and handling.
