Gallardo to Hand-Over its Bloodline to Successor Soon

One of the most prolific Lamborghinis ever is set to retire.  This graceful hand-over will be complete when the heir to the throne of Lamborghini rolls out of the studio in Sant’ Agata Bolognese.

Phenomenally successful, it appears as though the sun is setting on the Lamborghini Gallardo.  The dawn of a descendent will follow swiftly and so fans of this remarkable car need not fear.

Selling more units than the Aventador, Countach, Diablo and Murciélago combined, the Gallardo has had an amazing career.  Passing on the reins to the next awesome V10 must be a smooth transition however, since the new model will have auspicious shoes to fill.

Lamborghini executive Fintan Knight recently revealed some interesting details at the Sydney Motor Show about how the Italian marque plans to have the mantle passed to a new best-of-breed supercar.  The car will be a pure automatic, with no more manual gearbox Lamborghinis being produced.  However, the jury is still out on whether another break with tradition will occur and a rear-wheel drive car may materialise.  The trademark of a Lamborghini is its all-wheel drive, but perhaps in order to take on a new market segment, novel alternatives may be considered.  ‘We do see that there’s a distinct positioning between a rear-wheel-drive, which is back to basics, and the four-wheel-drive, which will remain our sophisticated lap-time oriented car’, he was reported as saying.  Even if two drive-trains are available, purists will however be relieved to hear that a naturally-aspirated engine will provide the power, as there will be no consideration of hybrid technology.

With regards further clues, not much else was let slip.  We do however hear that lessons from the Sesto Elemento may take form in the car.  What is also known is that the legacy of a great fighting bull will adorn the car once again.
Since one thing on which this Italian marque has not been forthcoming is the timing of the replacement, the current Gallardo LP560-4 is a great option right here and right now.

For a last tango, take the latest iteration of this famous Lamborghini, the Gallardo LP-560-4 Spyder on self-drive hire.  Marvellously modernised, it is hard to believe that this represents the last of its lineage.   A visual fascination, the Baloon White exterior greets you with a cacophony of contrasting dimensions, brilliantly highlighted with aerodynamic accents.  The rest of the arctic appearance is highlighted by styling cues such as the trademark headlights, more novel LED daytime running lights, and the 19“ black-painted Cordelia wheels.  Amazingly, there is nothing last-season about the performance of the Spyder.  The V10 achieves 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds, courtesy of its massive 560 hp.  The aluminium structure, e.gear transmission and direct fuel-injection system all team up for a superlative self-drive hire system.  You will wonder how this magnificent supercar could possibly be no longer in its prime.
