1980s at Bentley: This was the decade of the Bentley Mulsanne which was launched at the same time as the 1980 Silver Spirit. The standout was the Bentley Mulsanne Turbo which caught a lot of attention at the Geneva Motor Show in 1982. It went from 0 – 60 mph in 7 seconds and it had a top speed of 135 mph.
1990s at Bentley: 1991 was a good year for Bentley because this was the year that the Continental R was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. The Continental R had a 6.75 litre engine with a blistering top speed of 150 mph. 1993 was when the Bentley Brooklands was revealed, which was a four door car. 1995 was the year of the Bentley Azure, one of the most popular cars to have ever come out of Crewe. The 1990s was an important decade for Bentley because in 1998, Bentley was acquired by the Volkswagen Group. This acquisition helped to power Bentley forward because of more resources and more budgets that could be allocated to design. Don’t forget that this is the decade that is responsible for the Arnage Red Label car, one of the most scintillating Bentleys ever.
2000s at Bentley: Bentley’s brand was solidified with the Continental GT which has become one of Bentley’s most successful models to date. Volkswagen’s investment in Bentley started to pay dividends in style and success as more consumers flocked to the brand thanks to its innovative design. 2009 was an important year for Bentley as it was the 90 year anniversary of Bentley Motors that year. An all-new Bentley Mulsanne was released to celebrate this.
