Range Rover Evoque Becomes a Special Vintage

Celebrating some of the finer things in life, a unique contemporary collaboration was recently uncorked on the streets of ‘fair’ Verona in Italy.

The latest in motoring design was uniquely blended with the age-old tradition of ‘Methode Champagnoise’.   The fabulously-fresh Range Rover Evoque has received the Aznom Automotive treatment, with a touch of Bollinger Champagne, to come out of the vat as the Bollinger Edition.

Renowned for their after-market tuning, Aznom have produced this Special Edition using an SD4 model 2.2 litre diesel Dynamic five-door, maintaining its capacity of 190hp.

They have stayed true to the refined philosophy that less is more.  As such, the body is intact and flawless, just as nature, or Range Rover, intended.  Indeed possibly the first thing to strike you is the bodywork, immaculately finished in the red of a good port, with coachlines in the gold of a champagne’s bubble.  Gold sparkles on the exterior as well in the form of tinted alloy wheels, side skirts and other styling cues.  It cloaks the special badging at the front and rear, and finally discreetly tattoos the moniker ‘Champagne Bollinger’ on the rear wing.  A matte charcoal black was chosen however to blatantly wrap the roof, resplendent with the logo of this prestigious house of Champagnes highlighted in gold.

At its debut at Vinitaly 2012 last week, modern-day followers of beauty were able to glimpse what is so attractive about this special edition.  Inside, one can find the bespoke cream leather upholstery with gold, black and red fittings.  One of these is the fitted champagne holder, of course.  The boot is complete with champagne picnic hamper, crystal flutes, ice bucket, and bottles.  Two air-conditioned cabinets carry up to a dozen bottles of Bollinger champagne at perfect temperature.  Everything that is required for a romantic outing in this most romantic of cities is included.  It is quite possible that should Romeo and Juliet have eloped from Verona in this rather than their chosen ways, the ending of the ‘star-cross’d lovers’’ tale would’ve been a much happier one indeed.

The Range Rover Evoque does however appear in film.  For those of you to whom the word Bollinger conjures up more than just chilled-out celebrations, it is no surprise to recall that Bollinger is the chosen bubbly of none other than James Bond.  It is no coincidence therefore to learn that the car was chosen to star alongside 007 in this year’s upcoming spy film, ‘Skyfall’.  Bond’s love of superlative motor cars is legendary, so the fact that this car is one of his chosen few is only to be expected.  It will be accompanied by his beloved vintage Aston Martin DB5, that we already blogged to you about, as well as its little country cousin, the Land Rover Defender.

Until the car appears on the silver screen later in 2012, it will be touring the countryside of Italy, appearing at the wine festivals, courtesy of Land Rover Italy.
