Rolls Royce Plans May Include an Entry to the 4×4 Market Segment

A new flagship model, as well as a top of the range all-terrain vehicle, may be on the horizon for the illustrious marque.

It would seem that at the home of the original British motor car, there is more going on than meets the eye.  Ever-evolutionary to survive and thrive in over a century of motoring heritage, it has been hinted that designers at Rolls Royce are continuing to innovate.

A new car to epitomise the spirit of Rolls Royce may be on the drawing board, and this car may look to be the pinnacle of the current Rolls Royce line-up, eclipsing even the Phantom Drophead Coupé.

Also in the pipeline may be a rival to Bentley’s EXP 9 F.  Perhaps having learnt from the market’s early negative reaction to the Bentley 4×4, as we blogged to you about previously, it appears as though Rolls Royce have shown wisdom in waiting until market reception of the luxury 4X4 improved.  Sentiment may therefore be much more positive if and when the studio at Rolls Royce releases what their impression of a superior SUV should look like.

The output from Goodwood may well take the Phantom drive train, given that it is already larger than most top-end 4x4s.  It may also borrow a staunch V12, such as the 6.6 litre Ghost engine.  Refined in approach, this could prove a much more winning combination than that of Bentley.  Brand Manager Harald Kreuger was recently interviewed, allegedly showing interest in a head-to-head with the EXP 9 F from Bentley, when it eventually reaches the market.

To experience the uncompromising presence offered by the Phantom, a chauffeur-drive hire will let you feel the innate personality of this legendary car.  The ethereal white silhouette is offset by the substance of the bodywork.  Uniquely couched in history, yet steeped in up-to-the-minute technology, this is a car which provides a superlative experience when it comes to comfort, style and performance.  Singularly focussed on a dynamic interaction between you and your surroundings, the car provides the ultimate cocoon of quality to your drive.
