Step Inside a Virtual Bentley Showroom

Bentley has chosen to highlight its latest offerings in a digital showcase.  Exciting new developments come alive in this audio visual feast.  We think you won’t be able to tear yourself away from browsing through this cavalcade of motoring news.

Their new Continental GT and GTC V8’s engine takes pride of place in this news round-up.  Headlining the bill, these engines provide a moving soundtrack for any further headlines in the Bentley portal.   Just launched at the Detroit Motor Show a few months ago, this new generation engine was developed to power these cars with true V8 style.  The 4.0 litre engine is quickly becoming renowned for its super stereophonics, the legendary Bentley growl.  An enormous investment of hours spent by Bentley’s specialist engineers in sound simulators has reaped rewards with an audio score for your journey that provides palpable enjoyment.

Many would wonder if the cars needed any enhancement, but Bentley has managed to revisit these grand tourers and reinvent them with panache.  The engine also adds to the improved driving experience with increased fuel efficiency, travelling over 500 miles on a single tank of fuel, thanks to variable valve displacement. This means that four out of its eight cylinders hibernate when not needed, immediately springing to life when the throttle demands it. 0-60 is achieved in just 4.7 seconds. Suitably, the engine earns its enamelled flying Bentley ‘B’ beneath the bonnet.

Twin exhaust pipes in horizontal figure eights at the back of the car leave you in no doubt as to the pedigree of this power unit. Inside as well, a contemporary feeling enhances the fascia, with Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus veneer partnering with almost clinical instrumentation to add a clarity which announces the performance credentials of this luxury supercar.

Also showcased is the luck with which some Bentley enthusiasts were graced recently when they got to test drive these new models.  Privileged guests were guided by a Bentley driving specialist for an hour around a specially-selected route, hand-picked to let them feel the full impact of the drive experience of the new cars.

The Continental V8 also receives its spot on the limelight in this online festival of speed with review by some of the luminaries of the motor sport world.  Le Mans winner Guy Smith is captured falling in love with the flawless performer. He said ‘the power and the steering are really responsive. I could flick the car from left to right and put it exactly where I wanted it.  And the sound of the car is fantastic.  The slightly stiffer suspension and the more direct, more positive power steering were really noticeable.  And they have done a fabulous job on the gearbox. It’s smooth, effortless shifting and, just like a race car, it won’t let you change down until the car is at exactly the right speed.  In fact as far as the gearbox is concerned it’s the closest I have ever seen to a race car on a car designed for the road’.

Critical acclaim is also accorded to the Continental V8 by the review conducted by the eminent motoring journalism team of Jeremy Clarkson and The Stig in the Top Gear review.

You can also share the excitement of what it means to rub shoulders with Bentleys, their owners, and some fabulous jewellery at the recent celebratory evening.  The affair marked the launch of the Bentley Supersports Convertible Ice Speed Record edition, which is uniquely paired with a fantastic Breitling watch, for the twenty lucky owners in Britain who are able to purchase this limited edition.  Being part of the Bentley set, you are also able to view what it feels like to be invited to the Bentley Power on Ice event, recently held in Finland for some fortunate owners.  A taste of the phenomenal all-wheel drive of the Bentley is yours.

A final coup de grace is delivered when you get to watch the making of the new Continental V8’s launch video.  Everyone loves a behind-the-scenes viewing, and when it concerns a beautiful car such as this in the stunning Swiss setting, it is simply breathtaking.

All these screen scenes uniquely invite you to get closer to Bentley.
