The world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle is here

Check out the new and quite astounding Lamborghini Urus, an SUV with the design, performance, driving dynamics and sheer flair of this popular Italian marque.

It may be a five-seat SUV, but it undoubtedly has the heart of a performance-driven Lamborghini sports car: it features a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine, an eight-speed gearbox and can accelerate from 0-62MPH in just 3.6 seconds – that’s not much slower than a Lamborghini that can’t go off road! Adding to its performance capabilities are carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive air suspension and active roll stabilization, plus of course a 4-wheel-drive system with active torque vectoring and four-wheel steering

Design wise, the Urus’ low-line coupé styling and commanding road position belie the very comfortable ride, higher ground clearance, and luxurious space within, together with the latest technologies. It has an undoubtedly muscly look, with its short overhands, imposing peaked bonnet and low roofline, along with wide rear shoulder and sculpted rear. Yet there are also plenty of unmistakably sporty touches that wouldn’t look out of place on one of Lamborghini’s supercars, such as the large hexagonal air intakes and a low-level front spoiler

Essentially it’s a super luxurious, super sporty, super capable car that’s a rugged-yet-sleek blend of sports car, mile-munching road car and terrain defying off roader. We can’t wait to drive it!

As for the name, it’s once again linked to the world off bulls. The Urus, also known as Aurochs, is one of the large, wild ancestors of domestic cattle. The Spanish fighting bull, as bred for the past 500 years, is still very close to the Urus in its appearance.
