2013 – The Final Year of the Gallardo

2013 is the year that Automobili Lamborghini will manufacture the Gallardo. As one of the most endearing super cars in the world, Gallardo has clearly been a success for Lamborghini seeing that it reached a decade of production. Since its introduction in 2003, the Gallardo became one of the top selling super cars in the industry.

A video has been released showing the final Gallardo model which will be released this year. The dark tones of the video signal the end however as Lamborghini fans know, the end for a Lamborghini model is only the beginning. Automobili Lamborghini has always had a strong track record when it comes to committing to manufacturing a specific model of cars. The Countach, for example, was produced for 16 years.

As Lamborghini decides that this year will be the last year of the Gallardo, it’s time to look at what the specifications of the 2013 model will include. Officially known as the LP560-4, it should include an automated manual transmission which is what news sources are reporting that Lamborghini will include. The 5.2L V10 engine is going to be the core of the new Gallardo and it is a fitting standard for the final year of the Gallardo. Top speed is reported to be over 200mph; the 0 – 60 mph acceleration time is said to be between the 3 second mark.

The suspension system of the 2013 Gallardo will include double wishbone front suspension which plays a role in the strength of the Gallardo brand. The technical features of the Gallardo are good reasons as to why the model has remained popular for 10 years.
