2014 Audi R8 Caught Testing Appears Well Worth The Wait

The next evolution of Audi’s flagship R8 is well into its test phase, and was recently photographed during track time.  A preview of the future of supercars for the road has arrived.

Track side takes of the latest testing session shows the new Audi R8 being put through its paces.  We get some brief glimpses of what the new car has in store, both in its impeccable aesthetics as well as how it eats up the tarmac beneath its mighty wheels.

The photographs show a racier evolution of this bred-for-the-road supercar, without the balance of what made the first ever R8 so great having been disturbed.

At the front, the spectacular and charismatic nose area receives some attention. A more arrow-headed prow greets the onlooker, with a deeper grill showing a more pronounced trapezoid, and flanked by sharper air intakes.

Sharper delineation characterises the side profile of the car, with enhanced mesh air intakes aft of the B-pillar.  The roof line continues to hold its alluring curve.  Towards the rear of the car, we are treated to a more wrapped-around darkened rear light cluster coming into view.

The stern is again sharpened with a squarer rear light cluster emanating the brute strength of the car.  The back is finished off with a neat spoiler demonstrating the car’s pragmatic approach to speed and down force, without compromising on attraction.

Apart from receiving a good indication of what the new car will look like, we are also treated to impression of the speed and handling of the car.  Whilst the shots are stills, it impossible not to walk away with a feeling of incredible speed, dynamic handling, and a supreme race-like experience all around.  All that is left is to await the launch of the next generation mid-engined supercar.

The face-lifted Audi R8 will not be released till next year, why not try out the existing Audi R8 range by hiring from us such as the Audi R8 V10 Coupe and the Audi R8 V8 Coupe.
