Bentley Bentayga is a Work of Art

Scheduled for launch in late 2015, the Bentley Bentayga is already turning heads. This much anticipated SUV from one of the world’s luxury marques has released tantalising details on their website, which give us a glimpse of just how special this car will be.

Promising interiors so good you won’t want to get out of them, the website dazzles us with pictures of luxury fabrics and glorious paragraphs such as “Texture is everything. That’s why veneers are sanded and varnished repeatedly, before being passed for use inside a Bentley. It’s why leather hides are only accepted from farmers whose animals graze at high altitudes – where it’s colder and insect bites are less common, leading to fewer imperfections in the leather. And it’s why every Bentley upholsterer signs his own name on the back of the hide when completing a seat.”

If this level of detail goes into a seat alone, the rest of the car should be equally spectacular. Although details are as yet scarce – although we do know that the car will feature the characteristic four round headlamps and Bentley grille – we’re expecting a truly unique SUV, one that, as Bentley put it, makes you look at things in a new light.

At the moment, Bentley have only released concrete details about the camouflage used to protect the car during its testing phase. Inspired by 1960s Op Art pioneer Bridget Riley, famous for her use of optical illusions in her paintings, the camouflage is designed to resemble shimmering snakeskin.

We’ll bring you more details on this SUV as we have them – we can’t wait to finally discover the finished version!
