Drive One of 2012’s Top Five Supercars

The world of supercars is usually an exciting place to be.  2013 will be no exception but looking back at 2012 also provides an amazing retrospective.

This year will bring some incredible unveilings.  We can look forward to the cream of the world’s motor shows and the débuts of models such as the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, and the replacement for Ferrari’s Enzo.  Before we look to the future however, we can look back at the fabulous models released in the year that was.  The top 5 supercars of 2012 have just been announced.  We are thrilled to see that four variants of our prestigious supercars were included in the five.  This just reinforces the excellent taste shown in the portfolio.

First of these found in the top five is the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster.  Like its coupé sibling, the Roadster is powered by a 6.5 litre V12 with the inherent force of almost 700 horsepower.  Unlike its predecessor, the soft-topped Roadster to pair with the Murciélago coupé, this convertible features a removable hardtop.  This is made up of two carbon fibre panels which are stored in the front luggage compartment.  Even though they weigh only 13 lbs each, this is something you don’t have to worry about when you take the Aventador coupé on a self-drive hire.

The Roadster follows on the immense success of the Aventador coupé and you can get behind the wheel of this cutting-edge Lamborghini on a short-term hire.  An identical top speed of 217 mph is reached by the coupé, and in today’s temperatures, there certainly is no reason to look for top-down driving anyway.  The edgy exterior highlights the incredible design and engineering that is wrapped in this geometric bodywork.  Independent Shift Rods transmission, Drive Select Mode, and a pushrod spring and damper system in the suspension, come together to create an exhilarating driving experience.  The carbon-fibre monocoque is not just amazing to behold from the exterior.  Swing the upward-opening doors to reveal an incredible performance-bred interior for your ultimate enjoyment.

The second relative to one of our cars found in the top five is the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Unveiled in Geneva, fêted in Maranello by F1 drivers and journalists alike, the successor to the 599 GTB is understandably an achievement from Ferrari today.  It is lighter and more powerful than found before.  With its 6.3 litre engine producing 730 horsepower, and its super-light chassis and body, the car achieves 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.
The F12 carries the genes that you can find in the Ferrari 458 Spider.

One of the latest Ferraris available on self-drive hire, this car is one of the star performers of the Ferrari stable.  With over 30 international awards accoladed to the 458 in just two years since its own launch, it will be a worthy self-drive option.  Feel why it owns the titles such as car of the Year and Supercar of the Year.
