2017 looks to witness the expected facelift of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the refreshed model has now been spotted testing for the first time ahead of its expected upcoming launch.
The car is already almost completely undisguised; what can we determine as new on Mercedes-Benz’s mid-range luxury saloon, then?
Aesthetical changes appear to be rather minimal on the Facelifted version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. A new bumper design features updated air intakes, in addition to an adjusted shape to the grille. Chrome highlights now feature on the side skirts and rear bumper of the car.
Most interestingly, the facelift has brought with it fabulously redesigned headlights, whereby two LED-accented vertical stripes appear in both headlights. Those on the fifth-generation E-Class seemingly inspire this feature.
We are still eagerly awaiting information regarding new engines and powertrains the facelift may bring to the range, though undoubtedly, there will be amendments expected to creep out from under the bonnet, including the implementation of Mercedes-Benz’s latest 9G-Tronic transmission, replacing the ageing 7G-Tronic currently fitted across the range.
We also expect the Facelifted C-Class to bring interior cabin changes to the marque, reflecting E-Class and S-Class design and luxuriousness. It is almost certain that we will see the fitting of an upgraded infotainment system, as well as a possible new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls that respond to swiping movements.
Rumour has it that the C-Class facelift will make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 though this is yet to be confirmed by the brand themselves.
