Maserati Takes on Nurburgring

Maserati proves its true colours by going to Nurburgring to test on the track. Despite the rich automotive heritage in Italy, the marque has gone to this famous track to show off the new Quattroporte. The marque was testing several prototypes besides just the QP. Choosing to test cars at Nurburgring indicates a change in Maserati’s approach to getting a car to the market. This is only half of the story: the Quattroporte has launched successfully which has led the company to focus on the Ghibli as well. The Ghibli could include a twin turbo V6 or V8 engine with several options such as all wheel or rear wheel drive and a diesel fuel capacity.

The Ghibli should debut at the Shanghai Motor Show in April or the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. Maserati’s radical new approach to testing its cars shows that the company wants to take on other rivals from Germany and Japan.
