New C Class Set to be Star of Frankfurt Motor Show

mercedes_c-class_coupe_01If the spy photographs are anything to go by, we’re in for quite the Mercedes-based treat at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. Although it’s by no means the flashiest of the marque’s many offerings, the C-Class has long been acclaimed as a small but perfectly formed executive car, and it’s set to get a whole lot better in its next incarnation – the C Class Coupe.

Following on from the C Class saloon and estate, launched last year, its rumoured that this Coupe will retain the same engine range as its C Class cousins, offering a choice of turbocharged options. Yet the presence of a rear wing suggests more sporty plans may also be afoot.

In terms of exterior design, although the car is being tested in camouflage, the photographs reveal that this two door car has a slimmer rear end that’s very much reminiscent of the hugely popular Mercedes S Class. It’s also noticeably sleeker overall, with an elongated bonnet and slicked-back lights. The roofline is lower and more steeply angled, too.

Glimpses of the interior show many similarities with the existing C Class range, including the modern seven inch central infotainment screen. The car has four seats, and will undoubtedly come with all the added comfort, technology and safety for which Mercedes are famed.

The full reveal is scheduled for the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015, and we’ll be watching closely!
