Once the Cayenne leaves the range for terrestrial radio reception via FM or digital radio, the system automatically switches to online streaming with improved reception quality. Porsche voice control has been enhanced further thanks to the new Voice Pilot where input of voice navigation is simple. Online speech recognition allows voice commands to now be performed much more intuitively than before. For example, it is now possible to enter a navigation destination without address details. Navigation route calculation is achieved both online and internally in the PCM which independently decides which navigation system has calculated the optimum route, but always starts with fastest calculated result. In addition the Porsche Connect App can be used to control air conditioning and seat heating.

Permanently Online
Porsche knows how important it is for people to stay connected in today’s fast paced world and so has strived to ensure the Cayenne is at the forefront of technological advancements. The navigation system processes swarm data with the new Risk Radar service so that data about road conditions and traffic are retrieved and transmitted from vehicles with the relevant equipment. This service can send warnings about fog, skidding risks and accidents for example which can help reduce risks on the road and prevents accidents. Destinations are easy to create before a journey, not only in the PCM, but also using the Porsche Connect App on a smartphone or via the “My Porsche” platform. The destinations are synchronised once the driver has been identified by entering their Porsche ID in the vehicle, the app and the My Porsche web portal.
