Porsche celebrates the 911 with a special 50th edition

There is something about the 911 that has this X factor that other rival car maker sports cars don’t have. Porsche knows this and this is why the marque has opted to create a special edition 911. It is definitely going back to the rich roots of the 911 with retro styling.

The 50 Years Edition
This is the official title of the special edition car and this car is packed with a 3.8 litre naturally  aspirated engine. The engine feeds the car to have 430 horsepower. Transmission options are exciting as enthusiasts can choose between manual transmission or a dual-clutch option. The roaring acceleration can go from 0 – 60 mph in 3.8 seconds with the PDK option or if you want to drive the manual choice, it can still do 4.2 seconds for 0 – 60 mph. Porsche wants the performance of this special edition car to stand out which is why a new exhaust has been fitted and the active suspension has also been recalibrated.

The visual beauty of the 50 Years Edition
The look of this special edition Porsche makes it something to savour for Porsche enthusiasts. The edition comes in three hues:  Geyser Grey which is a light shade, Graphite Grey, a slighter darker colour and black. Interior options include grey and black to match if you want. There are retro 20” Fuchs wheels that gleam when the car is in motion, as well as glossy window frames and adaptive headlights. The interior is draped in leather upholstery as well as a brushed aluminium trim.

Frankfurt début for this Porsche
This special edition sports car will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Prices will hover around £80,000 when the cars arrive at showrooms in autumn. Porsche is making this event special by only producing 1,963 models of the car to commemorate the year (1963) that the 911 launched.
