At the end of 2015, Signature Car Hire was delirious when Porsche announced that it had a treat in store for us this year: the release of the brand new Porsche 718 Boxster. Well, we did not need to wait in angst for too long, as Porsche have unveiled their brand new model in all of its Porsche-style glory – we are here to update you on the latest.

The new Porsche 718 Boxster receives a new engine and new styling; in other words, a lot more talk. The revised Boxster is now more powerful than ever, accredited to its brand new 2.0-litre turbocharged flat-four engine. This petrol motor delivers an astonishing 345 BHP – just imagine being the one behind the wheel of that.

The new four-cylinder engine is undoubtedly more efficient, but the masters at Porsche have amended the engine in such a fantastic way that we now have 35 BHP more than was outputted by its predecessor – hallelujah. Not only this, but the new model is 0.8 seconds quicker than the older Porsche Boxster, plummeting us forward from 0-62 MPH in just 4.7 seconds. This is definitely the car to take when running late to work…

What’s Changed on the Outside of the Brand New Porsche 718 Boxster?
Here is where the most obvious changes implemented by the team at Porsche are showcased; the new Porsche 718 Boxster boasts bountiful style and presence these days. Larger air intakes have found their way to the front of the vehicle, at a flatter angle than previously known, along with thinner LED light strips and sharper new headlights. Larger vents sparkle on the doors, next to far sleeker door handles and above a noticeably larger set of 19-inch alloys.

The Porsche 718 Boxster looks far wider than in its previous shape, thanks to its newly formed taillights, as well as the movement of the Porsche badge to just below the sports spoiler.

As For The Inside…
Interior wise, the Porsche 718 Boxster sees subtle changes, including new air vents, a new steering wheel, and a new position for the famous Porsche clock. Porsche has also added a completely new mode of driving, in addition to the Normal, Sport and Sport Plus settings we have grown accustomed to. Added to the list are the Individual setting (we cannot wait to have a play around with this) and a new Sport Response button on the dash, causing the clever car to become immediately more responsive in terms of both the engine and the gearbox.
