Signatures Close Protection officers routinely carry out operation training days to ensure their skills are always up to date.
Some officers have recently been away looking after some high profile clients, so with them back in the UK it was time to schedule a training day. With clients on vacation it has given them the chance to get back to base for several refresher training planned for this month.
Driver training was tackled to make sure that any incorrect habits were ironed out and some convoy drills were also practiced utilising 3 security vehicles from the fleet. 2 Range Rovers and an S Class Mercedes we used starting the driving drills on the M25 and then M4 heading into London, which looked very smart and disciplined. After a few hours on the motorways the convoy headed into London and carried out some debus drills around the back of Harrods in Basil Street, where one of the security team acted as a VIP for these scenarios. After a few more hours a de brief was carried out on what had been accomplished during the day, with feedback given on the tasks assigned to each team member.
The next training day is planned in 3 weeks, where this time the security team are going to brush up on their medical skills and review the equipment carried.
