Veneno & Lamborghini Concept Uncovered at the Geneva Motor Show

The competitive nature of the supercar industry means that Geneva is the battle ground to be seen as the best by the industry. Lamborghini tried to accomplish this by revealing the Veneno at the motor show this year. 2 lucky buyers have already bought the Veneno at the motor show and as more details seep through, it’s clear to see why. Reportedly costing $4m (£2.6m), the Veneno is a 6.5 litre V12 powerhouse that has a top speed of 220 mph, a few seconds more than the Aventador, even though it is based on the now iconic car. The Veneno can go from 0 – 60 mph in less than 3 seconds to finish the electrifying performance ability that the buyers will experience. It is still a child of Lamborghini’s design ethos with its scissor doors and trademark aggressive body styling. The interior is made with carbon fibre which points to the futuristic identity of the car.

When Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini presented the Veneno at the motor show, the reception was as expected: awe at how the company continues to innovate with this model. If the Veneno wasn’t enough to whet the appetites of tough critics, the concept coupe from a Volkswagen owned design studio should have done the trick. ItalDesign showed their Parcour concept that is based on the Gallardo by Lamborghini.

The inspiration from Lamborghini is seen with the 5.2 litre V10 engine and stunning 22 inch wheels. The colours include glossy red and white shades, the former for the coupe body and the latter for the roadster. 0 – 60 mph is said to be achieved in 3.6 seconds. Experts believe that the Parcour symbolises what Lamborghini could do design-wise for a potential SUV if the company decides to go down that road in terms of what it can look like.
