So Amerjit, how long have you been with Signature Car Hire?
I have been working for Signature Car Hire for 6 years.
What do you do?
I manage our fleet which consists of a range of the very latest prestige and supercars. My role is to organize the collection and delivery of cars and to make sure our valet team look after them so they are always in pristine condition for our clients, this is very important to us as we pride ourselves on offering not only the latest, but the most well maintained cars in the industry. All general maintenance and valeting are managed in our Experience Centre in London.
What’s the usual request you have had from a customer?
We have been supplying cars to stars who take part in the Gumball Rally for many years. One year we delivered cars for the famous jewellery designer Jade Jagger, US singer Eve and actor Idris Elba. For this particular rally the cars were initially wrapped to promote the event. I had to drop our Bentley, Range Rover and Aston Martin off to our clients at the Trafalgar Hotel in London and then travel to Istanbul in Turkey to collect them at the end of the rally. I was also invited to the end of rally party, so all round it was a great experience!
Another amazing request was when our Lamborghini Gallardo was featured in a TV programme. The car was used on location with TV presenter Andy Peters at the wheel of our Lamborghini on location in the country. Most of our deliveries and collections are pretty standard, but these really stand out as memorable!
Why is it so important to have top of the range models?
It is important as we want to be leaders in the market, offering cars that are far superior to the competition. Our cars really are packed with gadgets and gizmos!
What is the best part of your job?
I really like travelling to different countries to drop off cars. So far I have been to Talin in Russia, Stockholm and Turkey.
What made you want to work in the car industry?
My uncle worked in the motor industry, he was a mechanic and I decided to follow his footsteps. I became a technician at a main dealer then I heard of this job and felt it suited me.
If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing?
I would be part of the Police Force.
And if you won the lottery?
First I would have a holiday and then I would buy a supercar, probably a Ferrari 458 Spider (pictured here below).
Which is your Signature Car of Choice?
From the fleet? The Mercedes SLS AMG Coupe
If it was yours for a week and you could take it on a road trip, where would you go and who would be your passenger
I would go to Lake District….who would I take? That would be telling!!!
What do you do in your spare time?
I am a big football fan and avidly follow Manchester United Football Club. I’ve been to nearly all the games this year.
What keeps you awake in night?
Making sure cars are delivered on time!!!
What superpower would you choose if you could?
I would be invisible! I could get up to same mischief and see what others do when no-one is looking.
What 3 things would you want if deserted on an island?
Food, company and entertainment.
What motivates you?
I’ve always been motived by the desire to do a good job and make people happy.
Who is your inspiration?
My father. He taught me many valuable lessons and I attribute much of who I am as person to my dad.
