An Interview With Business Development Manager Craig Duggan

1. How long have you been at Signature Car Hire?
I started working with Signature Car hire in September 2012 and was excited to join a leader in the industry.

2. What do you do?
I have the pleasure of developing new business ventures within Signatures Global division. My main role is to help expand Signatures profile in new and exciting markets. I work closely with quality brands that fit very well with our own ethos.

3. What have you learnt since arriving onto the Signature team?
Every day I’m learning new things! It’s exciting to learn about the wine industry, the latest models of fast cars to hit the UK, and to be a part of a team that is so supportive and helpful at developing not only its business, but also for its team. To be the best in something, you need the right attitude, passion and drive… a bit like the cars in the showroom.

4. What’s the best part of your day?
Walking through the front door and saying good morning with a smile – it sets the day up for everyone to have a great day!

5. What are you working on at the moment? Can you give us the inside scoop on what treats are in store for Signature Global customers?
At this time  I am delighted to announce the exclusive launch of Stobi Winery, and their range of high quality wines, with exciting new indigenous grape varieties in to the UK market, from the Republic of Macedonia.

6. What’s the most important aspect of a car hire business?
The service.

7. Where do you see the car hire industry in 10 years’ time?
I’d love to say, back to the future style flying cars… but with the latest Lamborghini Aventador in the showroom, that’s almost a jet fighter plane on wheels.

8. We’ve heard a rumour you’ve been drinking at work – tell us about Stobi wines.
Well, it’s very easy to drink at work with several samples on my desk and more arriving from new sources each day but working in the wines worlds isn’t as glamorous as most people would like to think. There’s a lot of hard work involved and the UK Wine trade is one of the most competitive in the world. Of course, tasting wines at trade events is fun, but to be honest I never get the time. I’m too busy sharing the passion and story of Stobi Wines to everybody that I meet. Signature recently showcased Stobi Winery at the Emerging Regions Tasting Event in London. This was an exciting time, our first launch and the first time these wines had ever been showcased in the UK. Following the overwhelming and positive interest received from the top leaders in the industry, you’ll need to watch this space…or follow me on www.stobi.co.uk

9. What did you do before you joined Signature Global?
Prior to being head hunted by Signature, in the 9 years before, I worked my way up from the bottom rank, to Office Manager/ Business Development Manager for gas-elec Safety Systems, the UK’s no1 safety inspection company that tailored “one-stop” services for landlords, Lettings Agents and private home owners. Dealing with the leaders in the industry seemed a natural fit.

10. What do you do in your spare time?
Wow, what’s that? – I’m just joking. With north London roots, I like watching football and rugby. The emirates stadium and International games at Twickenham, are really good fun.

11. What’s the number one thing on your ‘bucket list’?
Plug the holes.

12. Which of Signature’s cars would you most like to drive for a weekend?
The Bentley GTC Supersports on a hot summers day, with the roof down.. just bliss!

13. Where would you go?
Brighton

14. Who would you go with?
The highest bidder.

15. Which appeals more – a day at the track or a long drive along windy roads?
A day at the track.. It’s legal to put your foot down.

16. What would you like to be doing this time next year?
Travelling the world, sampling new wines to bring to the UK.

17. Who is your inspiration?
The boss of course.. who else!

18. What couldn’t you live without?
My iPhone and internet connection.
