Aston Martin is celebrating its centenary this year with aplomb and this is definitely obvious with the reveal of the CC100, the latest concept car from Aston Martin. With this car, the concept car proves Aston Martin’s commitment to always stand out from the crowd. You can see this from the six-speed automated manual gearbox which helps the CC100 be a smooth drive with its V12 engine. The unveiling of the CC100 led the parade at the Nurburgring 24 Hours in front of 100 other spectacular Aston Martins.
The details of the CC100
This concept car has been declared to be a one-off so enjoy it now while you can. The car has a two-seater layout which adds credence to its status as a sports concept car. The CC100 is said to be inspired by Aston Martin’s existing VH infrastructure which is given its strength by the V12 engine that has 6 litre fuel capacity. The car can go from 0 – 60 mph in a sliver over 4 seconds which is a speedy way to get around. The top speed of the car is 180 mph while the total weight hovers at 2,645 lbs. The stunning body is made from carbon-fibre which gives the car an imposing stature. Critics say that this concept car is more minimalist than Aston Martin has done before but the minimalism is definitely welcome as the marque enters a new era in its existence.
Dr Ulrich Bez, the CEO of Aston Martin said: “CC100 is the epitome of everything that is great about Aston Martin. It represents our fantastic sporting heritage, our exceptional design capability, our superb engineering know-how and, above all, our adventurous spirit”. Dr Bez even said that he has nicknamed the concept car the ‘DBR100’ because of its close relation to the 1959 race-winning cars and the company’s centenary in 2013.
Incredibly, the concept car was designed and manufactured in just 6 months at the marque’s HQ in Gaydon. Many executives were involved from branding, design and engineering and Aston Martin worked with outside supplier, Multimatic Inc to create this stunning concept car. From the minimalism of the interior of the car to the sleek retro exterior, the CC100 is going to continue turning heads as Aston Martin celebrates 100 years in business this year.
