Having made a stunning impression with their stand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Lamborghini went one step further and took the opportunity to make an exciting announcement. As Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said at Goodwood: “The Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now. We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for.”
This is great news for Lamborghini fans who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Superveloce, and didn’t manage to get their hands on an original. Unfortunately the roadster edition will be limited to just 500 cars, however, so prospective owners will need to be quick!
The roadster version builds on the already brilliant Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce or SV, which has been exciting lucky critics who were able to take it for a test drive in late May. As those who were fortunate enough to take it round the thrilling circuit de Catalunya can attest, the Superveloce more than lives up to its name. It accelerates from 0-62MPH in 2.8 seconds, and reaches a top speed of more than 217 MPH. This speed is partially achieved by the fact that, compared to the Aventador LP 700-4, the power output of the Superveloce has been increased by 50HP and the weight reduced by 50 kg.
