Lamborghini Celebrates One Hundred Years of Innovation in Half the Time

Celebrating its fiftieth anniversary throughout 2013, Lamborghini celebrates being born under the sign of the Bull next year.  A cavalcade awaits followers.

Apart from celebrating the record-breaking success of the Aventador, and the superbly-special Sesto Elemento, followers of the enigmatic supercar should be delighted to commemorate fifty years of motoring excellence next year.

Record-setting has always been the hallmark of Ferruccio Lamborghini, thanks to his ambition and talent.  ‘I want to build the perfect car’ was his aim and his uncompromising, extreme, and excellent cars are testament to this.  Now available in over 45 countries via over 120 dealers, the marque still stays true to its heritage.

That is, at the heart of Lamborghini you will still find craftsmen and women building the legendary cars at their home in Sant’Agata Bolognese.  This is the same place where the foundation of the marque was laid in May 1963.  It is at this birthplace where the highlight of the year will take place.  The Tour will cover 1200 kilometres of Italian roads from Milan to Rome, Forte dei Marmi to Bologna, and home to the Emilia-Romagna region.  It will include vintage and modern Lamborghinis and all their enthusiastic drivers and followers from all over the world.  Registration has just opened at the House of the Raging Bull for this Grande Giro Lamborghini 50˚ Anniversario.  This will be a great chance to drive and view the Lamborghinis doing what they do best on some switchback hills and straight Roman roads.  The tour culminates in Sant’Agata Bolognese where enthusiasts can visit the museum and production facility, as well as the town’s annual May festival, La Fiera di Maggio.

So authentic is the Lamborghini brand that to pay homage to the region of its birth, the company will use the event to raise the funds to make a donation to the community.  This will be used to rebuild social and cultural centres damaged by the earthquake in the area of Emilia.

Also on the cards, quite literally, is a collection of 50 exclusive postcards in as many international events.  The portfolio will illustrate the history, models and values of the marque over the last 50 years. Each postcard is created in Italy and limited to just 200 hand-numbered and framed sets.

The logo for the anniversary has also been released, depicting the number 50 above the word anniversary.  It emphasises the lines typical of the distinctive and dynamic style of Lamborghinis.

Afficionados can sign up on the website to ensure that they keep up to date with this packed social diary of Lamborghini happenings.

At the launch of the calendar of festivities, Stephan Winkelmann, CEO and President said that ‘over the past 50 years, Lamborghini has represented the dream, legend and symbol of a unique, remarkable region – Emilia-Romagna – whose proud, determined people have given us models unlike anything else in the world.  Even today, now that we are an international enterprise, this deep bond with our local history and culture is still very strong. We are certain that the events in Italy and abroad will make Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary a unique, memorable experience for all our fans, as they look forward to reliving first-hand the emotions of the past, and savor the anticipation of a new and exciting future.
