Rolls-Royce went back to basics to show off their years of engineering. Taking inspiration from the 1913 Alpine Trial, Rolls-Royce did a 2013 Centenary Alpine Trial. In 1913, due to the success of the cars in the Trial, Rolls-Royce said the Silver Ghost was the best car in the world. Fast forward 100 years, the Silver Ghosts are still turning heads.
The 2013 Trial featured 47 Silver Ghosts that spent 16 days travelling over 1,800 miles with the Rolls-Royce Works Team at hand. The owners were a gilded bunch of people from ambassadors, diplomats, members of Royalty and Lords & Ladies. The event was completed in Vienna, Austria which was the final destination of the event 100 years ago.
Torsten Muller, the CEO of Rolls-Royce said that the Centenary Alpine Trial embraced the Spirit of Adventure which is synonymous with the Rolls-Royce brand. The members of the event as well as luxury car enthusiasts would definitely agree with this assessment.
